Walking with Others and Walking with Wisdom

I recently got to talk about the joys and struggles of breaking out of my old patterns of pride and self-sufficiency. I also got to share the joys and the struggles of discovering rich transformational community and connection with others. Part of it required letting go of my conceit ("I already know"), but the deeper and better work was finding freedom from the fear and shame of being "wrong" that had fueled my self-protection. Learning to not just desire the wisdom of others but to actually walk with them and let them get close enough to sharpen, shape, and hone me has fundamentally changed the trajectory of my life. Best of all, it has given me genuine capacity to walk with others in a way that's truly helpful for them and authentic for me.
I hope this message helps you on your own journey from self-protection to the true you!
